Joining Video Calls through wawa

Learn how to join video calls through the wawa app and patient portal, and ensure everything is working as expected.

You can join video calls with your clinic directly through the wawa app and online browser portal.

Through the app

Before you start, ensure that your audio and video permissions are enabled on your device and for the wawa app. Additionally, ensure you have sound and your ringer turned on.

  1. Navigate to the relevant appointment in your app

    • You can do this from the home tab, treatment tab, and clinic tabs of the app

  2. Click the "Join call button"

    • This button will become available and joinable shortly before your scheduled appointment

    • If you do not see a "Join call button," your appointment may be in-person, or a phone call in which case the clinician will call you

    • If you would like a partner, family member or friend to attend the appointment with you, share the appointment link directly with them—they can then open and access this link on their browser

  3. Once in the call, ensure that your audio and video are turned on by tapping the video and audio icons on the bottom bar of the video call screen:

  4. To leave the call, tap the red button on the bottom right

Through the portal

Before you start, ensure that your audio and video permissions are enabled on your device and for the wawa portal. Additionally, ensure you have sound enabled on your device.

  1. Navigate to the relevant appointment from your dashboard on the patient portal

  2. Click the "Join call button"

    • This button will become available and joinable shortly before your scheduled appointment

    • If you do not see a "Join call button," your appointment may be in-person, or a phone call in which case the clinician will call you

    • If you would like a partner, family member or friend to attend the appointment with you, share the appointment link directly with them—they can then open and access this link on their browser

  3. Enable the platform to use available cameras and microphones when visiting the site, if not already granted

  4. You will be directed to a waiting room from which the clinic will let you in

  5. Once in the call, ensure that you have the correct audio and video inputs selected by using the selection buttons on the bottom menu:

  6. To leave the call, click the red button on the bottom right
