1. Video Calls in the wawa App and Platform
You can conduct video calls directly through the wawa platform, simplifying your scheduling, and your patients’ appointment experiences.
2. Why Conduct Video Calls through wawa?
By scheduling your video calls through the wawa platform when booking appointments, both care team members and patients only have to navigate to one page in order to see information about the appointment and join the video call.
Links can also be shared to the video call from the appointment page, for example, a patient sharing a link with their partner who was not previously invited to the call.
Scroll to the bottom of this page for a video walkthrough on joining video calls.
3. How it Works:
Adding or Editing Video Call Appointment Types:
Visit the Appointment Types page in your settings
Click on an existing appointment to edit it, or click “Add Appointment Type” to create a new type of appointment
Select “Online” under “Type” in order to indicate that all appointments scheduled using this appointment type will be video calls
Scheduling a Video Call:
Book any appointment through the calendar page or a patient’s page
Video call appointments are indicated with a small video camera icon
Patients are sent email confirmations and can view the appointment in their app
Joining a Video Call:
Clinicians: Join a video call through the Calendar page or your platform Dashboard
Patients: Patients can join video calls through the appointment confirmation email, the “Appointments” or “Treatments” tabs in the patient app
Other Participants: Patients and clinicians have the option to share the meeting link with other meeting participants as relevant.
While on the Video Call:
When joining a video call from a laptop, you have the option to share your screen, and change the appearance of your call through blurring your background or adding a virtual background.
