1. Medication Billed Items in the wawa platform

Medication billed items allow you to automate the billing of medications dispensed to patients through wawa.

2. How it Works

  1. Set up a billing product for the medication

  2. Ensure the medication is configured within the platform

    • Visit the pharmacy tab → “+ Add medication” or edit pre-existing medication as needed

    • Add relevant variants to the medication

    • Select the relevant billing product for each variation – this will be what is billed for when that variant is dispensed

  3. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of the medication on the “Inventory” section of the pharmacy tab

  4. Dispense the medication via the “Dispense” section of the pharmacy tab – medication must be in-stock based on your logged inventory in order to dispense the medication

  5. Once a medication is dispensed to a patient, the relevant cost will be linked to their account under “Charges/Billed for.”

You can read more about how billed items work and can be invoiced for here, under “Viewing and Invoicing for Billed Items” and read here for more information on creating invoices.
