The Date of birth - % populated card shows the percentage of your patient list that has a date of birth recorded, as a single number.

Date of birth drives anything age-related, so this card tells you how much of your patient list the age cards on the Patient overview dashboard are actually based on. A figure well below 100% means those age figures are describing only part of your caseload.

If your clinic's historical records were brought into wawa from another system, they were not created through the wawa form and so were not subject to that requirement. A figure below 100% usually points to those older records rather than to anything your team is doing now.

This comes from the Birth date field on each patient's record. Open a patient, go to Patient information, and Birth date sits in the Identity section, alongside the name and sex fields.

Birth date is also asked for when a patient is first created. Filling in a missing birth date on an existing record raises this percentage, and also brings that patient into the age cards, the next time the cards are loaded.

In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports and select Patients, then Patient core demographics. The Date of birth card is near the top of the dashboard.
