What this card shows

The Marital status - % populated card shows the percentage of your patient list that has a marital status recorded, as a single number.

Marital status matters for consent paperwork and for understanding the make-up of your patient list, so this card tells you how much of that information you are holding.

Reading the card

  • The number is a percentage of your whole patient list, not a count of patients.

  • A patient counts as populated only if a real value is recorded. Blanks and not specified are both treated as not recorded.

  • Marital status is not a required field when a patient is created, so this figure is usually below 100%.

  • There is no date filter. This is a snapshot of your whole patient list as it stands today.

The companion Marital status distribution card on the same dashboard shows the actual breakdown, covering only the share of patients counted here.

Where this data comes from

This comes from the Civil status field on each patient's record. Open a patient, go to Patient information, and Civil status sits in the Identity section, below the birth date field.

Civil status can also be set when the patient is first created. Recording it on an existing patient raises this percentage the next time the card is loaded.

Opening this card

In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports and select Patients, then Patient core demographics. The Marital status card is near the top of the dashboard.
