What this card shows
The Marital status distribution card breaks your patient list down by recorded marital status and shows how many patients fall into each group, as a ring chart.
It is useful background when reviewing consent paperwork requirements, which differ depending on whether a patient is married or in a civil partnership.
Reading the card
Each segment is labeled with its share, and the total in the middle is the number of patients included in the chart.
Hover over a segment to see the exact number of patients.
Patients with no marital status recorded are left out entirely, and so are patients recorded as not specified. The total in the middle is therefore lower than your whole patient count.
There is no date filter. This is a snapshot of your patient list as it stands today.
Similar values are merged before the chart is drawn, so patients recorded as never married are grouped with Single rather than shown as their own segment. Anything outside that set appears as it was recorded, just tidied for display.

Where this data comes from
This comes from the Civil status field on each patient's record. Open a patient, go to Patient information, and Civil status sits in the Identity section, below the birth date field.
Civil status can also be set when the patient is first created. Choosing from the list rather than typing a value keeps the segments on this chart consistent.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports and select Patients, then Patient core demographics. The Marital status distribution card is on this dashboard.
