What this card shows
The Where are patients in their cycle card is a live view of your currently active cycles, grouped by the furthest stage each one has reached. It is the card to open when you want to know where your current patients actually are today. There is one line per stage:
Post-aspiration, pre-fertilization: eggs have been collected, awaiting fertilization.
Post-fertilization, pre-transfer: embryos are developing.
Post-transfer, awaiting outcome: an embryo has been transferred, but no pregnancy test result or outcome is recorded yet.
Post-transfer, outcome recorded: a pregnancy test result or final outcome has been logged, while the cycle is still open.
Reading the card
Each cycle is counted once, at its furthest stage only. A cycle that has reached transfer appears under a post-transfer stage, not under the earlier ones it passed through.
Only active cycles are included. Completed and canceled cycles are excluded, and so are active cycles that have not yet reached egg collection.
Each month on the horizontal axis is the month the cycle started, so a column tells you how far along the cycles that began in that month have got.
Hover any point to see the exact number of cycles.
Cycles with a missing, future, or otherwise implausible start date are left out.
The card lives on the Nursing & care team dashboard, on the Patient flow tab, and responds to the filters at the top:
Date: change the time window. It scopes by cycle start date, and defaults to the past 6 months plus the current month.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Age at cycle start and BMI: narrow to a patient group.
Because cycles are closed out by hand, a cycle whose outcome is already known can still be sitting in the active list. Those show up under outcome recorded rather than awaiting outcome, which is a useful signal in itself: it is the group of cycles that are finished in substance and just need closing.

Where this data comes from
Two things drive this card: how far a cycle has got, and whether it is still open.
The stage comes from the lab and clinical records on the cycle. Egg collection, fertilization and transfer are recorded on the Culture tab of the patient's Cycle page, a row per embryo, each carrying its fertilization result and what became of it. An embryo marked as transferred is what moves a cycle into a post-transfer stage here.
The pregnancy test result arrives as a lab result on the Outcomes tab of the same cycle, recorded through the Add Outcome menu. As soon as any result is entered there, the cycle moves from awaiting outcome to outcome recorded.
Whether the cycle counts as active at all comes from the cycle's own status, set with the New, Complete and Cancel actions on the Cycle page.
Recording each milestone as it happens is what keeps a patient in the right group here, and closing out cycles keeps finished ones from lingering.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Nursing & Care Team → Nursing & care team. Select the Patient flow tab. The Where are patients in their cycle card is on it.
