1. Capabilities in the wawa platform
Use the capabilities function within wawa to make sure that the right rooms and the right team members are available for appointments. Add ease to your scheduling and eliminate guesswork when booking appointments!
2. How it Works
Adding Capabilities
Visit your Clinic Settings > Capabilities. Here you can view, edit, and remove pre-existing capabilities. Click “New” to create a new Capability.
Name your Capability
Click “Save”
Reopen the Capability
Indicate which appointment types require the capability
Indicate the team(s) and/or care team member(s) with the capability – for example team members who are able to draw blood for a blood test, or who can perform a sonogram for a scan appointment
Indicate the room(s) that provide the capability – for example a room with an ultrasound machine for an ultrasound appointment, or a semen collection room for a collection appointment
Click “Save”
Configuring Capabilities and Appointments
Visit your Appointment Types page. Here you can see at a glance the capabilities that are assigned to your appointment types.
Capabilities can be added to appointments in two ways
As indicated above, through the capability page
On the appointment types page. Find the relevant appointment, then navigate to the “Capabilities requirements” header, under which you can directly link pre-existing capabilities to the appointment.
Capabilities when Scheduling
When booking an appointment with associated capabilities, the following will happen:
When selecting the room and care team member(s) associated with the appointment, only those indicated on the capability will appear as options
The booking slot suggestions given in the booking page will only be those for times at which both the care team member(s) and the associated room(s) are available, as associated with the capability
