You can change the availability of a sample directly from the cryostore record in order to clarify any restrictions there may be on the use of a sample.

How to change the availability:

  1. Open the availability pop-up

    • Click "Actions" then "Change availability," on the device to edit individual devices' availabilities.

    • Click "Change availability on the bottom right-hand corner to edit the availability of every device in the freeze event.

  2. Ensure that the checkbox to the left of the relevant sample(s) for which you wish the change the availability status is selected

  3. Select the relevant availability status to which you wish to update the device(s) from the dropdown

  4. Indicate a cooling off date, if relevant

  5. Click "Save"

The new status will then show as updated on the cryostore record.

How do the availability statuses appear?

Each availability status will appear in a different color, and indicate to your team any restrictions that may exist for an individual device.

  • No restrictions: header shows in gray and the availability shows in green; and the sample is not under any restriction

  • On hold: header shows in red

    • Separated: header shows in red, and requests a cooling off start date

    • Genetic condition: header shows in red

    • Withdrawing consent: header shows in red

  • Blocked – Genetic condition: header shows in red

  • Quarantined: header shows in purple

  • Sibling only: header shows in yellow

  • Family limit: header shows in yellow

Samples are indicated as having no restrictions by default. This means that the device will be freely up for transfer to the designated patient.

Samples with the availabilities on hold, quarantined, family limit, or sibling only, will face restriction on being able to be thawed into and transferred in cycles — with on hold or quarantined samples necessitating this status be cleared first.
