What this card shows
The Contact info completeness card shows two percentages: the share of your patient list with an email address recorded, and the share with a phone number recorded.
These are the two ways your team reaches patients between visits, so this card is a direct check on how many patients you would be able to contact if you needed to.
Reading the card
Both figures are percentages of your whole patient list, not counts of patients.
Email is a required field when a patient is created, so % email is normally at or very close to 100%.
% phone # counts patients who have at least one phone number recorded, of any type. A patient with several numbers still counts once.
A blank field counts the same as a missing one.
There is no date filter. This is a snapshot of your whole patient list as it stands today.
Phone numbers are not required, so % phone # is the figure most likely to fall short, and the one worth acting on. If you rely on text messages or calls for appointment reminders, this is the number that tells you how much of your patient list those reminders actually reach.
Where this data comes from
Both come from the patient's record. Open a patient, go to Patient information, and the Email and phone fields are at the top of the Patient contact information section. There is more than one phone field, Primary and Home among them, and a number in any of them counts toward the percentage.
Email is also asked for when the patient is first created. Adding a phone number to an existing patient raises the phone percentage the next time the card is loaded.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports and select Patients, then Patient core demographics. The Contact info completeness card is toward the bottom of the dashboard.
