1. Using Notes in the wawa App

Notes allow you to add information to a patient’s profile either from scratch or from a pre-made template. These notes are stored on the patient’s profile for future reference.

2. Creating Notes from Templates

Use note templates to add efficiency to your note creation, particularly for common note types.

Creating a Note Template

  1. Visit your clinic settings

  2. Visit the “Letters & notes” tab

  3. Click on any pre-existing template to edit it, if needed

  4. Click “New template” to create a new note template

Note: Letter and Note templates live in the same area of the platform, and can be used interchangeably when sending to patients.

Scroll to the bottom of this page for a walkthrough of how to create Note Templates.

Creating a Note from a Note Template

  1. Visit a patient’s page

  2. There are three options to create a note from a patient page

    • From patient dashboard: click “+ note” or “Select a template” on the lower right-hand side of the patient overview dashboard

    • From the left-hand menu: click “add note”

    • From the notes tab: click “add note.” Select the template you wish to use.

    • Summon the command bar by using cmd/ctrl + K, and type “Add note”

  3. Once the note creation pop-up appears, click “Select a template” and choose your desired template upon which to base the note. Edit the template as needed!

Using templates to create your notes allows you not only to speed up the creation of notes, but also add variables to be pre-filled by information contained within the platform, for example patients’ names, clinicians’ job titles, any flags on the patient profile, and more.

Creating Notes from Scratch

Notes can also be created from scratch, with the note creation pop-up appearing through the same methods as listed above.

When creating a note from scratch, simply type in the note creation pop-up.

Selecting Create review task for will assign a task to the chosen care team member to review and then approve the given note.

Selecting Alert when completed will provide an alert in the form of “Note was reviewed” being the new name for the review task on your task overview once the note has been reviewed and accepted.
