Creating and Deleting a Patient in the Platform
Here is how to create a patient directly in wawa, and make sure their profile is set up for the best care team and patient experience.
Visit the patient overview page from the left-hand menu
Click “Add new patient”
Populate the pop-up with relevant information
If you leave the PIM field blank, a patient ID/record number will be generated automatically
Indicate which clinic they are connected with under the ‘Clinic’ field, if relevant
Indicate whether you want to request partner details in app
Click either “create” or “create and invite” – the latter of which will automatically invite the patient to join the app
Visit the "Patient information" tab of their profile in order to add/edit this information retroactively if needed.

Note: if you have an outside EMR connected to wawa, patients may be automatically pulled between the two. Reach out to us if you have any questions on how this works!
To remove a patient from the platform, a care team member with admin access can visit the patient page → Patient information tab → scroll to the bottom → “Deactivate patient” or “Delete patient”
