How do I change a patient ID number?

Learn how to change a patient's ID number in the case it is needed.

Note: Patient ID numbers should only be changed manually in the case of absolute necessity.

In order to change a patient ID, you must be a system Admin.

To change a patient ID:

  1. Navigate to the relevant patient's page

  2. Click on the "Patient information" page

  3. Scroll and find the "Metadata" header

  4. Click "Change patient ID"

  5. Select all of the relevant checkboxes to confirm your acknowledgement of the risks of changing a patient's ID

  6. Enter the ID to which you wish to change the current ID under "New Identity Management ID"

  7. Click "Change ID"

The patient will now operate fully under the new ID.
