What this card shows
The Booked hours per room card shows how many hours of appointments have been booked into your clinic's rooms over time. By default it shows one bar per month, giving a single combined total across all rooms, so you can see how the overall load has moved.
Booked hours are worked out from each appointment's start and end times: a 90-minute appointment adds 1.5 hours to its room.
Its companion card, Booked room hours ahead, is the same view pointed at the periods still to come. Use this one to see how busy you have been and that one to see how full you already are.
Reading the card
By default the card shows the previous 12 months plus the current month, as one combined total per month.
Set Room breakdown to Per room to split each bar into a colored section per room. This is worth doing for a handful of rooms at a time; a clinic with dozens of rooms will find the stacked view hard to read.
Use the Room filter to narrow to the rooms you are interested in. Leaving it empty includes every room.
Hover over any bar or section to see the exact hours booked.
The card lives on the Operations Dashboard and responds to the filters at the top of it:
Group by: switch between Month and Week.
Date range (past): change the time window.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Room: narrow to particular rooms.
Room breakdown: switch between a single combined total and a split per room.
Only appointments that have a room assigned appear on this card. If your clinic does not routinely choose a room when booking, the card will show little or nothing even though the clinic is busy. It is most useful once room booking is part of your normal scheduling routine.
Where this data comes from
Rooms are assigned when an appointment is booked. On the booking form, alongside the time and other details, whoever books the appointment can choose which room it will take place in. That choice is what this card counts.
The rooms available to choose from are set up per clinic in Settings, so the rooms shown on the card match the ones your clinic has configured. The more consistently a room is chosen when booking, the more completely this card reflects how your rooms are actually used.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Clinic operations → Operations Dashboard. The Booked hours per room card is on the dashboard.
