What this card shows
The Proportion of MII at ICSI card shows what share of retrieved eggs were mature enough to inject, month by month, across your cycles that used ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection, where a single sperm is injected directly into an egg).
MII, or metaphase II, is the mature stage an egg has to reach before it can be injected. Maturity is assessed when the egg is denuded, meaning stripped of the cumulus cells surrounding it, roughly 40 hours after the trigger injection and immediately before ICSI. That is the only moment at which maturity can actually be seen.
This is a reference indicator of egg competence and how well stimulation worked. It is not a measure of laboratory performance: it reflects the maturity of the eggs arriving in the lab, not anything the lab does to them.
Reading the card
The solid line is your MII rate. The two dashed lines are the expected range, 75% to 90%.
Sitting below the range suggests stimulation timing or trigger issues are worth reviewing. Sitting above it can happen with selective retrieval.
The denominator is all cumulus-oocyte complexes retrieved on the cycle, meaning every egg-and-cell package collected, not only the ones that were injected, and regardless of whether any went on to fertilize. That makes the rate read a little lower than a figure calculated only over injected eggs.

For a cycle to appear on this card, at least one ICSI fertilization must be recorded on it, and at least one egg must be recorded as collected. A cycle with maturity recorded but no ICSI fertilization will not contribute.
The maturity counts themselves are not required. An aspiration with eggs collected but the maturity boxes left blank still counts toward the denominator while adding nothing to the numerator, so it pulls the rate down rather than dropping out. A figure well below the expected range is therefore worth checking against your maturity recording before it is read as an egg-quality signal.
The card lives on the Laboratory performance (Vienna consensus KPIs) dashboard, on the Andrology & PGT tab, and responds to the filters at the top:
Date: change the time window. It scopes by the date of the egg retrieval, and defaults to the past 6 months plus the current month.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Treatment type, Age at cycle start and BMI: narrow to a subset of cycles.
Where this data comes from
Egg maturity counts are entered on the aspiration record, on the Culture tab of the patient's Cycle page, alongside the number of eggs retrieved. The card reads the counts from that record, which stands in for the assessment made at denuding just before injection.
Both halves of the calculation are entered on the same screen. The maturity boxes can be saved empty, though, which is why a blank one lowers the rate instead of removing the cycle from the card.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Laboratory Performance → Laboratory performance (Vienna consensus KPIs). Select the Andrology & PGT tab. The Proportion of MII at ICSI card is on it.
