What this card shows
The Fertilizations card lists one row per fertilization procedure your laboratory carried out, with the method used, who performed it, and where the eggs and sperm came from.
It is the source data behind the two fertilization charts above it, so you can check any figure on them against these rows, or export them and rework the figures in a spreadsheet.
Each row carries:
Procedure date, Patient and Patient registration number.
Fertilization method.
Performed by (fertilization) and Clinic (patient's cycle location).
Egg source and Sperm source.
The Cycle ID and Fertilization ID you can trace a row back by.
Reading the card
Fertilization method is one of six recorded procedures. IVF is conventional insemination, where eggs and sperm are combined and fertilization is left to happen on its own. The rest are forms of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), where a single sperm is injected directly into the egg: ICSI itself, plus P-ICSI, D-ICSI and IMSI, which differ in how that sperm is selected, and Rescue ICSI, which is performed after conventional insemination has failed. A procedure with no method recorded shows as Not defined.
Egg source and Sperm source are one of Patient, Partner, Anonymous donor, Known donor or Not recorded. They are taken from the cycle the fertilization belongs to rather than from the procedure itself, so every fertilization in a cycle carries that cycle's sources. Where a cycle records more than one provider, the first is shown.
The table scrolls sideways for the columns past the first few, and the row count sits at the bottom right. Use the download option on the card to take the whole set into a spreadsheet.
The card sits on the PGT KPIs dashboard, on the Procedure mix tab, and responds to the three fertilization filters at the top:
Procedure date: the time window. It scopes by the date the procedure was performed, and starts on the past 6 months plus the current month.
Performed by (fertilization): narrow to one practitioner's work.
Clinic (patient's cycle location): focus on one or more of your locations.
The Biopsy date, Embryologist (biopsy), Destination lab and Test types filters belong to the biopsy cards and leave this table alone.
Clinic (patient's cycle location) is the clinic the patient's cycle belongs to, not the laboratory that carried out the procedure. wawa does not record which laboratory performed the work.
Where this data comes from
The procedure date, the method and the practitioner come from the fertilization record itself, raised from the Culture tab of the patient's Cycle page by selecting the eggs and choosing Fertilize.
The egg and sperm sources come from somewhere else: the Gametes tab of the same Cycle page, where each cycle's oocyte provider and sperm provider are recorded and marked as the patient, the partner, or a donor.
A cycle with no provider recorded shows Not recorded in the source columns, and can never be counted as donor on the Donor gamete use by month chart.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Laboratory Performance - Biopsies/PGT → PGT KPIs. Select the Procedure mix tab. The Fertilizations table is at the bottom left of it.
