What this card shows
The Fertilization method mix by month card counts how many fertilizations your laboratory carried out by each method, month by month.
There is one line per method:
IVF: conventional insemination, where eggs and sperm are combined and fertilization is left to happen on its own.
ICSI: intracytoplasmic sperm injection, where a single sperm is injected directly into the egg.
P-ICSI, D-ICSI and IMSI: forms of ICSI that differ in how the sperm is selected.
Rescue ICSI: ICSI performed after conventional insemination has failed.
Reading the card
These are counts of procedures, not shares, so the lines also tell you the laboratory's monthly volume. Hover a point to read the exact figure for every method in that month.
Procedures with no method recorded are counted as Not defined and are available as a column on the card rather than as a plotted line. If your totals here look lower than expected, hover a month and check that figure.
A clinic that works almost entirely by one method will see a single tall line with the rest flat near zero. That is the normal shape, and the useful signal is when it changes.
Rescue ICSI is worth watching separately. It rises when conventional insemination has not worked, so a climb in that line alongside a flat IVF line is a different story from a climb alongside a rising one.
The card sits on the PGT KPIs dashboard, on the Procedure mix tab, and responds to the three fertilization filters at the top:
Procedure date: the time window. It scopes by the date the procedure was performed, and starts on the past 6 months plus the current month.
Performed by (fertilization): narrow to one practitioner's work.
Clinic (patient's cycle location): focus on one or more of your locations.
The Biopsy date, Embryologist (biopsy), Destination lab and Test types filters belong to the biopsy cards and leave this chart alone.
Clinic (patient's cycle location) is the clinic the patient's cycle belongs to, not the laboratory that carried out the procedure. wawa does not record which laboratory performed the work.
Unlike the biopsy cards on the other tab, this chart is dated by the date the procedure was performed, which is a real procedure date rather than a proxy.
Where this data comes from
Fertilizations are raised from the Culture tab of the patient's Cycle page: select the eggs you are fertilizing and choose Fertilize. The method, the time the procedure was performed and the practitioner who performed it are recorded on the fertilization record itself.
Leaving the method blank puts that procedure into the Not defined count rather than onto one of the lines, so the mix reads as incomplete.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Laboratory Performance - Biopsies/PGT → PGT KPIs. Select the Procedure mix tab. The Fertilization method mix by month card is the top left of the four charts at the top of the tab.
