What this card shows
The Sperm motility post-preparation card tracks the progressive motility of sperm samples after preparation, month by month. Progressive motility means rapid and slow forward movement combined, and it is the measure that matters for insemination.
There are four lines:
Mean: the average across the month's samples.
Median: the middle value.
Competency: the Vienna Consensus competency level, 90%.
Benchmark: the Vienna Consensus benchmark, 95% or above.
Reading the card
The vertical axis is percent motility. Higher is better, and you want your Mean and Median lines sitting at or above the Competency line.
Mean and Median together tell you about the spread. When they sit close, the month's samples were consistent. When the Mean drops well below the Median, a handful of poor samples are pulling the average down while most were fine.
The Competency and Benchmark lines are flat reference lines from the Vienna Consensus, not measurements from your lab.

Records with a motility value outside 0 to 100% are treated as data-entry errors and left out of the Mean and Median.
Some labs record post-preparation motility as a single "fully motile" figure of 100%, so a month sitting flat at 100 can reflect that entry habit rather than a measured result.
Two things to keep in mind when reading a month:
Post-preparation motility is not recorded on every preparation, and today most preparations do not carry a value. The lines reflect only the records where it was captured, so a month with few readings can move for reasons that are not clinical.
Sample sizes are usually small compared with embryo-level cards, so read the trend across several months rather than a single point.
The card lives on the Laboratory performance (Vienna consensus KPIs) dashboard, on the Andrology & PGT tab, and responds to the filters at the top:
Date: change the time window. It scopes by the date the preparation was carried out, and defaults to the past 6 months plus the current month.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Treatment type, Age at cycle start and BMI: narrow to a subset of cycles.
Where this data comes from
Post-preparation motility is recorded in the Motility section of the sperm-preparation procedure, reached from the patient's andrology and semen-analysis records. The card reads the progressive figure, so it follows the rapid and slow progressive percentages entered there.
Because the card can only use readings that were entered, filling in the post-preparation motility on every preparation is what makes these lines representative rather than a sample.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Laboratory Performance → Laboratory performance (Vienna consensus KPIs). Select the Andrology & PGT tab. The Sperm motility post-preparation card is on it.
