Why it matters
Previously, the only way to reduce what a patient was charged was to discount the entire invoice or quote. If only one product or service needed a price adjustment, for example a staff discount on a single treatment, there was no way to show that cleanly. Now the discount sits on the exact line it applies to, so the invoice, quote, or credit note clearly shows what changed and why.
How it works
Click the money icon next to a line item to open the discount form. Choose either a fixed amount or a percentage, add a short reason, and apply it. The line shows the discount, and you can remove it again from the same place.
Once applied, the discount appears in the totals breakdown as its own row: Subtotal, then Line item discounts, then Taxable amount, then Total.
The discount is also reflected correctly wherever else that figure is used: in the Xero sync, and in your sales and credits reports, so every total matches what the patient was actually charged.
