How do I reserve or nominate a cryostored sample for a patient?

Organize your donor samples within the cryostorage tab by linking them to their relevant recipient patients.

You can mark samples that are cryopreserved as reserved for specific patients within the wawa platform.

How to Reserve a sample

  1. Visit the Cryostorage tab of the platform

  2. Navigate to the Samples tab, and find the relevant sample

  3. Within the sample overview, find the relevant device

  4. To the right of the device, click on the "Actions" dropdown

  5. Click "Reserve"

  6. Type in the name/patient number of the patient for whom you wish to reserve this gamete(s)

  7. Click "Save"

After doing so, you will see "Reserved for patient name" above the relevant device on the sample overview.

This will not make it appear on the cycle overview.

You can "Release" the sample in the sample options in order to send it back to the overview as before it was marked as reserved.

How to Nominate a sample

  1. Visit the Cryostorage tab of the platform

  2. Navigate to the Samples tab, and find the relevant sample

  3. Within the sample overview, find the relevant device

  4. To the right of the device, click on the "Actions" dropdown

  5. Click "Nominate"

  6. Type in the name/patient number of the patient for whom you wish to reserve this gamete(s)

  7. Select the relevant cycle for which you wish to nominate the sample

  8. Click "Save"

After doing so, you will see "Nominated for for cycle information (patient name)" above the relevant device on the sample overview.

This will make the gamete provider's ID and sample information automatically appear on the cycle overview for the relevant patient.

Approving or Discarding Nominations/Reservations

Once a sample is designated as nominated or reserved for a patient and their treatment, this designation must be approved. This designation will show as 'Pending' until it is confirmed.

Once you either 'Approve' or 'Discard' the designation, the status will be updated and you can take more action from the nominee patient's page.
