What this card shows
The Cycle cancellations by reason card shows how many treatment cycles were canceled over time, split by the reason recorded for each cancellation. It is a stacked bar chart: each bar is a period, and the colored sections within it are the reasons. Use it to see whether cancellations are rising or falling, and whether one reason is driving the movement.
Cycles are counted in the period they were due to start, not the day the cancellation was recorded. That keeps this card on the same footing as the other cycle cards on the dashboard, so a bar here lines up with the same bar on Current cycle status by start date.
Only canceled cycles appear here. A cycle that was completed or is still active is not counted.
Reading the card
The height of each bar is the total number of cancellations for that period; the sections show how it breaks down by reason.
Cancellations with no reason recorded are grouped together as (Unspecified).
Hover over any section to see the reason and the exact number.
Read this alongside Current cycle status by start date. The Canceled line on that card is the same total, and seeing both tells you whether a rise in cancellations is real or just tracking a rise in cycle volume.
The card lives on the Operations Dashboard and responds to the filters at the top of it:
Group by: switch between Month and Week.
Date range (past): change the time window.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
The reasons shown are the ones staff choose when canceling a cycle. If most cancellations are recorded with the general "Canceled" option, the chart will be dominated by that single color. Choosing a more specific reason each time makes this card far more useful for spotting patterns.
Where this data comes from
A cancellation reason is recorded when a cycle is canceled. On the patient's Cycle page, canceling a cycle opens a short form with a reason to choose from a dropdown. That choice is what this card counts.
The more consistently a specific reason is chosen, rather than the general option, the more this card can tell you about why cycles are being canceled.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Clinic operations → Operations Dashboard. The Cycle cancellations by reason card is on the dashboard.
