What this card shows
The Current cycle status by start date card groups your treatment cycles by when they started, and shows what has become of each group since. It is a line chart with four lines: Started, Completed, Active and Canceled.
Every cycle sits in the period it started, and the other three lines describe its status today, not its status back then. So a cycle that started in March and was completed in June appears under March, on the Completed line.
Because of that, Completed, Active and Canceled always add up to Started. Cycles still sitting in planned status are left out, since they have not started.
Reading the card
Started is your cycle volume for the period. The other three lines divide it up.
Completed dominates the older periods, where treatment has had time to finish.
Active rises toward the recent end, where cycles are still in progress. On a healthy dataset it falls away to almost nothing for older periods. If it stays high for periods long past, that usually means cycles were never marked complete rather than that treatment is still running.
Canceled is the gap you would otherwise see between Started and Completed.

The card lives on the Operations Dashboard and responds to the filters at the top of it:
Group by: switch between Month and Week. Week is useful for looking closely at a busy stretch; Month is the better default for trends.
Date range (past): change the time window. It defaults to the previous 12 months plus the current month.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Where this data comes from
All four lines come from the patient's Cycle page. A cycle's start date, set when the cycle is created, decides which period it belongs to. Its current status then depends on staff moving it on as treatment progresses: marking it complete when treatment finishes, or canceling it with a reason if it does not go ahead.
Keeping cycle statuses up to date is what makes this card meaningful. If cycles are left sitting in active status after treatment has finished, the Active line will not fall away as it should, and the card will overstate how much work is still in progress.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Clinic operations → Operations Dashboard. The Current cycle status by start date card is on the dashboard.
