What this card shows
The Current cycle status card plots your treatment cycles by the stage of their lifecycle they are in, month by month, using the month each cycle started. There is one line per status:
Planned: created but not yet started.
Active: in progress.
Completed: ended normally.
Canceled: ended early.
Use it to see how your caseload mix shifts over time, and how many cycles end early rather than running to completion.
Reading the card
The card counts cycles, not patients. A patient with two cycles in the window contributes two.
Each month on the horizontal axis is the month the cycle started, not the month its status changed. A cycle that started in March and completed in June sits in the March column, as completed.
Because of that, the most recent months usually show a tall Active line and a very short Completed line. Those cycles have simply not finished yet. The pattern is expected, and it fills in as the months settle.

Planned is often barely visible. A cycle is only planned while it has no start date recorded, and most cycles get one immediately, so they move straight to active.
The card lives on the Nursing & care team dashboard, on the Patient flow tab, and responds to the filters at the top:
Date: change the time window. It scopes by cycle start date, and defaults to the past 6 months plus the current month.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Age at cycle start and BMI: narrow to a patient group.
One thing worth knowing about the Active line: a cycle leaves the active state only when someone marks it complete or cancels it. Nothing closes a cycle automatically. So Active means "not yet closed out" rather than strictly "in progress", and if you widen the date filter well beyond a year you will pull in old cycles that were finished in practice but never formally closed.
Where this data comes from
Cycle status is set on the patient's Cycle page. Creating a cycle sets it to planned or active, depending on whether a start date is recorded. From there, the Complete and Cancel buttons on that page are the only things that move a cycle to completed or canceled.
Closing out finished cycles as you go keeps the Active line an honest reflection of your live caseload.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Nursing & Care Team → Nursing & care team. Select the Patient flow tab. The Current cycle status card is on it.
