What this card shows
The Planned cycles overdue card shows a single number: how many cycles are still sitting in planned status even though their start date has already passed.
Cycle status does not advance on its own when the start date arrives, so a cycle stays planned until somebody moves it. Every cycle in this count is therefore one of two things: a cycle that began but was never moved into active treatment, or a cycle that was never going to happen and was never closed off. Either way it is a piece of housekeeping, not a piece of pipeline.
Its companion card, Planned cycles not yet started, counts the opposite case: cycles whose start date is still ahead of them. That one is your genuine pipeline. This one is the backlog to work through.
Reading the card
This is a current total, not a count over a time period, so it has no date filter. It always reflects the situation as of now.
A cycle joins this count the day its start date passes without its status being advanced, and leaves as soon as somebody moves it into active treatment, completes it, or cancels it.
The healthy value is a low one. A number that climbs steadily usually means status updates are lagging rather than that treatment is being delayed.
The card lives on the Operations Dashboard and responds to one filter:
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Where this data comes from
A cycle enters planned status when it is first created. On the patient's Cycle page, starting a new cycle opens a form where the treatment plan and expected start date are entered; the cycle begins life as planned.
From then on it is staff action that moves it along. Working this number down, by moving cycles that did start into active treatment and canceling the ones that did not, also improves the accuracy of the other cycle cards on this dashboard, which all depend on cycle status being current.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Clinic operations → Operations Dashboard. The Planned cycles overdue card is on the dashboard.
