What this card shows
The Successful biopsy rate card shows what share of your trophectoderm biopsies came back with a usable genetic result, month by month. The trophectoderm is the outer layer of cells that becomes the placenta, and it is the part sampled for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).
There are four lines:
Success rate: your monthly rate.
Competency: the Vienna Consensus competency level, 90%.
Benchmark: the Vienna Consensus benchmark, 95% or above.
# Pending: biopsies still awaiting a response from the genetics lab, as a count on the right-hand axis.
Reading the card
The success rate is calculated over evaluable biopsies only. A biopsy becomes evaluable once the genetics lab has come back with a definitive answer, which includes an explicit "no result" from a failed or inconclusive test.
A "no result" counts as unsuccessful. That is deliberate: it is a biopsy that consumed an embryo sample and yielded nothing usable.
Biopsies still in flight are excluded from the rate entirely, whatever their age, and shown instead on the # Pending line. This keeps a slow turnaround from dragging your rate down.
Read the two together. The Pending line is a turnaround measure, not a quality one, and a spike in it usually means the genetics lab is behind rather than anything about your biopsies. Recent months normally carry more pending work simply because those results have not come back yet, which means the most recent month's rate often rests on only a handful of returned results and can move a lot as the rest arrive.
The # Pending line uses the right-hand axis, which is a count, not a percentage. The two axes have different scales, so the lines are not directly comparable by height.

The card lives on the Laboratory performance (Vienna consensus KPIs) dashboard, on the Andrology & PGT tab, and responds to the filters at the top:
Date: change the time window. It scopes by the date the biopsy was requested, and defaults to the past 6 months plus the current month.
Clinic: focus on one or more locations, if your organization has several.
Treatment type, Age at cycle start and BMI: narrow to a subset of cycles.
Where this data comes from
Biopsies and their results are recorded against the embryo on the Culture tab of the patient's Cycle page. The biopsy itself creates the record, and the genetic result is recorded against it when the genetics lab responds.
Entering results as they arrive, including the ones that came back with no result, is what moves a biopsy from the Pending line into the rate.
Opening this card
In wawa, open Insights from the sidebar, then go to Standard Reports → Laboratory Performance → Laboratory performance (Vienna consensus KPIs). Select the Andrology & PGT tab. The Successful biopsy rate card is on it.
