Overview: Credit Notes

Add credit to patient financial balances.

1. Credit Notes in the wawa platform

Use credit notes in the wawa platform to indicate patients’ payment and financial statuses with your clinic.

Note: Once a credit note is applied to an invoice, it cannot be undone.

2. How it Works

Processing a Full Credit Note

  • Visit the invoice you wish to credit

  • Find the “Credit invoice” button

  • Select whether you would like to credit the full amount, or a partial amount

You can also add credit to a patient’s account through deposits. Read more here.

Invoices can be paid using credit. Click “Pay invoice” and select “Pay with credit.”

To transfer credit from a patient to their partner, visit the “Credit Notes” tab and click “Transfer Credit.” From here you can indicate the amount you wish to transfer to the partner.

For those with Finance and Finance Admin permissions

  • You are able to view all credit notes within the clinic by visiting the Finance tab from the left-hand menu, and clicking “Credit Notes.”

    • Filter by patient and date range, see the total amount and sum of credit notes, and export a consolidated .csv file of your clinic’s credit note information.

  • Click on the "Credits" tab to view a report of all patients to whom credit has been issued.
