1. Direct Debits in the wawa platform
In order to support direct debits in the wawa platform, you must have the finance module enabled. Please reach out to the wawa team to get this configured if you would like access!
Note: Direct Debit payments may take a few days to process! If payment confirmation has been received, but you have not received anything in your clinic account, keep this in mind. The processing time may be longer than for other methods of payment such as with card.
2. How it Works
Patients can choose to pay by direct debit as opposed to card when paying an invoice. They will see a toggle to choose to pay with BACS Direct Debit, which can be used both in the app and on the patient web portal.
You will be able to view which payments were completed as a direct debit on the Transaction page, with the transaction type being labeled “Directdebit gb (via Adyen).”
If a patient has a subscription connected to a direct debit, they will still receive an invoice, but the money will come directly from their account on the invoice due date, rather than requiring further action on their part.
3. What Patients See
In the app, patients can pay by card by clicking on the given invoice → "Pay now" → "Credit/debit card payment" select → and scroll down to click on the "BACS Direct Debit option" underneath the "Cards" pop-up.
When paying online and on the web portal, patients receive the same options.
